Australian retailers beat, education and services disappoint in reporting week
Universal Store and Super Retail shares jumped on strong second-half sales while IDP Education, Sonic Healthcare and IPH fell on their own numbers.
The 19 and 20 August batch of Australian full-year results split cleanly: discretionary retailers were rewarded for sales growth, while companies exposed to student visas, pathology volumes and patent filings were sold despite headline growth.
